Let it hang

It's beautiful out there - and for once I can embrace the sunshine and gorgeousness of weekday weather, as I am on holiday.

I wouldn't normally be up at this hour, of course, but I have a dentist appointment this morning (for an extraction!), which does rather take the edge off it. It was, of course, the second thing - behind getting my hair cut, which I managed the other week - that I have been desperately waiting to get tackled during all this lockdown, so needs must.

Speaking of hair, here's a little something for a Tacky Music Monday dedicated to anyone who has yet to get to their hairdresser...

Wise words.

Have a good week, dear reader.

  1. Midweek???? What day is it?
You are going to the dentist?? This is not fair!! I need a dentist!! Possibly. Or maybe not.
Have you been in pain all this time? Is it an emergency dentist, or the dentist you're registered with? Questions, questions....
Anyhow, good luck! I hope it goes well.

    1. I get totally befuddled about what day it is, even when I am working, so you're not alone in that.

My dentist is back up and running, more or less as "normal" - although you cannot just walk in, you have to book over the phone and fill in an online COVID self-declaration before you go. Oh, and the dentist is kitted out like a dancer in the Can't Get You Out Of My Head video... Basically, one of my rotten teeth sheared off leaving a stump, so rather than risk anything nasty I decided it had to come out. Another one is still in place and keeps getting infected, but during lockdown proper I was able to get the dentist to send a prescription for antibiotics to my local chemist which sorted it out.

If yours needs treatment, I would speak to the practice asap, otherwise you'll be whining more than the dog... Jx

PS Does your hair resemble anyone in that video yet?

    2. No my hair does not resemble anyone in the video! I have fabulous hair, whether I go to the hairdresser or not. Two things I am naturally blessed with - very thick hair, and very long eyelashes.
I'm thinking my tooth problem might be a jaw problem, as I have been clenching in my sleep and think I've done some damage. I say this because I have a 40 year jaw problem, and the pain eases as I eat. Not hot and cold issues. No perceivable cavity problem. No redness or swelling of the gums. It hurts as I begin to eat and then tails off. Very odd.

    3. To paraphrase Crystal Gayle:
"You've been chewing in your sleep,
      Sleepin' in your dreams
      With some sweet lover"

Not sure about that last bit... Jx

  3. I am resigned to watching to see how much worse my hair can get. Sort of a horrified fascination, like watching a slow motion car wreck. Our barbers and salons are still closed with no guess as to when they might re-open. I assume soon I will be able to pile it all up in a French twist and be done with it.

But our dentists are available so I'm slated for oral surgery come Wednesday morning. Hot damn.
