Now this is how it started

It's cold and miserable today, and there is a risk of frost this weekend. Brrr!

Nevertheless, it is "Le Weekend", and (for me) it's pay day - so let's take ourselves off to Ibiza (I wish)!

...and by way of a memory jog, with its "no-expense-spent" video here is the (far superior) original from 1986, featuring what looks for all the world like "The Green Triangle" from a tin of Quality Street on legs...

Thank Disco House It's Friday!

Have a great weekend, dear reader! Keep warm...

  1. Flipping gale force winds here, and getting very chilly.
I haven't heard that vintage version in ages!! Yep - this reminds me of the club I used to go to!
Have a great weekend, despite the whipped up weather.

    1. It's windy, cold, grey and drizzly here. That's it! I'm hibernating. Jx

PS That song really is a blast from the past, isn't it? Thirty-five years ago! Time flies...

    1. His "Ibiza Prom" in 2015 was a masterpiece!

Mr Tong still has regular shows on BBC Radio 1 (and occasionally Radio 2 - where he revived his popular Dance Classics party anthems programme a couple of years ago, but was sort-of pushed out of their schedules by the divine Ana Matronic), and is still revered as the biggest DJ of the '90s. Jx

PS From Cockney Rhyming Slang: "It's all gone Pete Tong (= "wrong")" is still a common phrase here.

  3. Oh, yes, it's the Noisette Triangle all the way for me!

I didn't finish watching the Pete Tong version video - I got up to the bit where those people are floating about on their lilos and just imagined Jaws finishing them all off.

    Happy weekend!

    1. I posted it in an effort to warm us all up in this season of decay and drear, but I must admit all it has done is make me yearn even more for some semblance of sunshine. Roll on February (when we sojourn to Spain for a much-needed holiday)! Jx

  4. Ah yes, I'm currently commenting from what looks like one giant cloud at the moment. The music is a bit too peppy for me. I'd prefer some rasta, some Bob Marley always puts me in a warm relaxed mood. Hmm, Maybe we should watch Yellowbeard later. Its set in a tropical-like setting and we find it hilarious.

  5. We've had a streak of unseasonably warm weather which appears to have evaporated this afternoon. I think we're in for that winter stuff people are always going on about.

    1. We have something called "Storm Arwen" battering the north of the country and Scotland as we speak. Winter has begun! Jx
