We had a lovely day with The Mother yesterday - just sat around at my sister Hils' place, eating, chatting and looking through photos and videos - and once we dropped her off at the station spent the rest of the evening in a down-to-earth pub in Southwark.
Today I am continuing that chilled-out mood - and, with a mere ten-and-a-bit weeks till we will be doing exactly that, on our way to Spain for the first time in two years - by taking a flight on the luxurious STL Airways!

ReplyDeleteWe're counting down the days till our Spanish holiday in February! 2021 was a year of disappointments thanks to the dreaded 'Rona - Spain last February was out-of-bounds because we were in lockdown, Gay Pride was cancelled again, torrential rain put the kibosh on our annual picnic for mine and my sister's birthdays, we couldn't go for our usual weekend in Amsterdam because they required arrivers to quarantine for ten days, and there was no Proms in the Park either.

PS Become a trolly-dolly? I couldn't cope with serving all that revolting steamed food at high altitudes.
I'm going to cross my fingers that you get to go on this holiday, finally! When we first heard of Coronavirus way back in Feb 2020 I bet you didn't imagine that it would mean waiting two years for a holiday!

We were incredibly lucky that we got to Spain in February 2020, just before the mass panic and lockdown happened. We were also quite fortunate to get our weekend in Amsterdam last year between lockdowns - as the very next week the Netherlands imposed quarantine on arrival... Jx

I can just imagine you sweeping down the spiral staircase from the upperdeck of the STL Airways 747 mid-flight to sneer at the commoners on the main deck, before returning to the oasis of luxury, a glass (or two) of Champagne thrust into your hand by the attendant air hostess.

ReplyDeleteOMG 54 seconds in she is carving some food at the table Gawd only knows what it was but seconds latter you get a shot of the upholstery which looks scaringly similar !
It's very handy to have your food match the upholstery, as when you drop some on the headrest, no-one will see it. Jx
