Our lovely Scilla peruviana greeted us on our return from Spain. [click to embiggen]
I may still be on annual leave, but there are some traditions that need to be maintained...
...so here to cheer us into the weekend party spirit is one of Spain's (ahem) finest, Sr Georgie Dann!
¡Gracias discoteca es viernes!
Have a good Bank Holiday long weekend, dear reader!
I think Georgie might have danced better if he weren't trying to balance in those holes. And what the hell kind of dance is bimbó and were any of them even doing it? Oh, your flowers are stunning.
ReplyDeleteIf there was any kind of choreography going on here, I get the feeling that neither Mr Dann nor his dancers were sufficiently briefed on it!
DeleteScilla peruviana (despite its misleading name) is actually a native of Portugal, Spain and Morocco, so would be a good choice for you to grow. Much like succulents, it thrives on neglect. Jx
Lovely Scilla. Georgie? Not my type
ReplyDeleteI don't think Mr Dann was anyone's "type", tbh 😁
DeleteWe're thrilled that Scilla has finally "pulled out all the stops" and sent up so many flowers - we've had it since 2017, and it flowered in year #1, then sulked for the next three years, just growing itself into a clump before I gave it its own deep terracotta pot with gritty soil - and boom! It flowered last year, and this year we have seven blue "fireworks"! Jx
Nice to have you back, I hope you have saved some men for me. Lovely flowers on your scilla but not keen on the leaves, that type always attracts slugs, shame we can't have bespoke plants I'll have the above flowers with pinnate leaves.
ReplyDeleteI've heard of Bimbo bread.
It was still slightly "off-season" in Sitges, so there'll be plenty of men left over 😜!
DeleteScilla is completely slug-proof! It's a relative of bluebells, so poisonous to most pests. The only think that nibbled one of the leaves was a caterpillar. That's flatter now. Jx
Ah, welcome back! And that is indeed a gorgeous Scilla!
ReplyDeleteI don't know what to say about Georgie Dann? Probably as little as possible, so I'll stop now and look at your previous post where, I hear, there may be some totty?
From Bimbo to "Himbo"..? Jx
DeleteGeorge is.....jolly?! The safety lesbians look like they are having trouble keeping their balance!
ReplyDeleteI hope you're having a lovely weekend!
Sx
"Safety lesbians" - that's a new one! I think of scary door staff, not twirling frou-frou dancers with no coordination, tbh. Jx
DeleteBimbo was indeed on our holiday play list.
ReplyDeleteI must remember to delete it.
Ha! Jx
