Apparently they've got Bette Midler! As well as Take That, Lionel Ritchie, Katy Perry, Andrea Bocelli, Sir Bryn Terfel, Paloma Faith, Lang Lang, Nicole Scherzinger, Olly Murs, Pete Tong, Steve Winwood, Tom Cruise(!), LGBTQ+ choirs...and Dame Joan Collins! Not bad at all, methinks - and certainly camp... Jx
PS It is a shame I didn't see Pete Bentham and the Dinner Ladies on the list - maybe they'll turn up anyway 😀
Blake Edwards' inspiration for the film and stage play Victor/Victoria? Takes out a silk hanky and waves it in the air in a series of circular sweeps whilst bowing at Queen Vic's impressive knob.
Julie Andrews was far to pretty to be convincing as a man (although Victor Victoria remains on of my all-time fave films!) - whereas Queen Vic (knob or no knob) bore more than a passing resemblance to Harold Wilson. Jx
It's big, its black, it's down by the docks, it's Queen Victorias' knob. KNOW I KNOW! (I guess 'Heavy, black and pendulous was already taken.) Oh by the way, you inspired me. G'head go look!
Well, that statue of Queen Victoria and her knob is something to sing about.
ReplyDeleteIt's quite an impressive - ahem - monument 😂. Jx
DeleteI quite liked that. I hear they're having a hard time lining up talent for the coronation thingy, this seems like just the thing.

DeleteWell dear I can't speak for her, but I know what's hiding under my crinolines.
ReplyDeleteSeveral houseboys, I'd imagine. Jx
