You've got the best of it, then. It's rain, rain and more rain here. Typical. It was exactly the same for the late Queen's coronation seventy years ago! Jx
Missed the event (I was asleep here in the former colonies),but just finished reading y'all's build-up to the event! Lordy, sweetpea, all the preceding posts were hilarious! I think I'll have a couple of G&T's in your honor! Cheers! xoxo
Missed it too - I've recorded the event itself so The Madam and I can watch it together (probably with gin) either tomorrow or Monday as those are his days off. I did listen to the actual moment of coronation, the placing of the crown, live on BBC Radio 3, however.
Glad you liked the "almost true-to-theme" posts in the run-up to The Big Day, Savvy! Jx
A family friend that came by while I was visiting other family complained that Charlie didn't smile. "Would you smile if you were seated on the stone of scone?" To which she replied "Why is he seated on pastry?" Family and Family Friends are stranger than fiction.
I would gift Chuck and Camil' with matching dog-bowls. Too bad Queen Elizabeth II could not have stayed around to outlive Chuck I bet she was trying her best....:)
The deed is done!!
ReplyDeleteOn to the good stuff - some troughing of cake a bit of a knees up!
Sx
Hope all those people holding street parties have plenty of brollies - the weather's miserable today. Jx
DeleteJust about clearing up here after a morning of relentless mizzle. Warm though - in a mucky, sticky way.

DeleteDoes that mean Mr Ed is now Herr Majesty the Queen Consort?
ReplyDelete"Her Majesty Queen Fag-Ash-Lil, Trollop Royal" is the full title, I believe. Jx

ReplyDeleteHahahaha! I'd be miserable, too, if I was wearing a 5lb gold crown and half a ton of thick robes. Somebody pass an aspirin... Jx
DeleteBloody 'ell, do you think Chuck is up to being The King ?...:)
ReplyDeleteSurprised that an "anonymous" profile has shown up in my comments, given my settings, but...
Delete...time will tell. he's has more than seventy years of practice, waiting for the role! Jx
