Totty of the Day

It would have been the birthday today of the very lovely Horst Buchholz.

He was nicknamed "the German James Dean", but to be honest, most people would only really know him for his role in The Magnificent Seven.

And his magnificent bulge.

  1. He certainly had it going on. Sigh. Sal M. and James D. and Monty C. and he would make quite the dazzling foursome.

    1. He probably didn't spend as much time with his legs over his shoulders, either. Jx

  3. Der hübsche Horst / the handsome Horst
Er war ein internationaler Filmschauspieler und er war Deutschlands James Dean, er wird vermisst.
Wie das GiF seiner Poolszene in Die Halbstarken 1956.

  4. It's too bad we didn't get to see more of him here in the U.S.! Other than Arnold Schwarzenegger who came from Austria, I can't think of any modern living German actors that have become famous in the U.S.

    1. There are many famous actors who were born in Germany (thanks to the presence of Allied forces there during the Cold War), but of those with genuine German parentage (who are still still alive), I can only think of Michael Fassbender, Nastassja Kinski and Elke Sommer, tbh - and Mr Fassbender was actually brought up in Ireland! 2. Ah, Michael Fassbender! I recognize that name, great performance in Inglorious Bastards and he is an attractive man!
