Just a casual afternoon at home - fuck knows who that kid is, though!
The tail-end of "Storm Amy" has meant this weekend's been another very blustery one - loads of pots blown over again (and two begonias left looking rather sorry for themselves after smashing to the ground) - a good enough excuse (if any were needed) for a very quiet one indeed.
So, as is traditional - here's another Sunday treat, courtesy of our "house band" here at Dolores Delargo Towers...
So much better than the original...
We love Postmodern Jukebox!
The kid? Well, that massive custard pie has to go in someone's face, doesn't it? Just don't get any on my frock!
ReplyDeleteThat's a tempting prospect... Jx
DeleteFashion and hair abominations of the 70’s, very much American.
ReplyDeleteWhen I was a kid our family stayed clear of all that, and as a result our neighbors thought we were cultured and sophisticated !
We had the same table and chair set, but with a white with gold trim table, and chairs with white metal frames and covered in white vinyl brocade.

The UK didn't escape such abominations, either... Jx
DeleteWhen did my mother send you this candid of us???? I can see I'm going to have to lock up the old woman again.
ReplyDeleteAnd there's me thinking that was you with a midget lesbian... Jx
DeleteThe kid has style...notice the belt/shirt match.
ReplyDeleteI noticed. It made me nauseous. Jx
DeleteOh, that photo! She was definitely talked about by the neighbors.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely! Jx
DeleteWell, the note said, "Mrs. Johnson, you're wearin' your dresses way too high
ReplyDeleteIt's reported you've been drinkin' and a-runnin' round with men and goin' wild
And we don't believe you oughta be a-bringin' up your little 'boy' this way"
And it was signed by the secretary, Harper Valley P.T.A.
and the pie was shop bought !
"Well, this is just a little Peyton Place and you're all Harper Valley hypocrites!" Jx
DeletePMJ are always a joy and I love the frocks.
ReplyDeleteThey look every bit as wonderful as they sound. Jx
Delete"And the pie was shop-bought" The ultimate put-down
