Dame Angela's not the only beloved diva with a milestone anniversary today [see the Dolores Delargo Towers Museum of Camp]!
There's also Señorita Carmen Sevilla, who would have been 95...
...and Miss Sugar Pie DeSanto, who would have been 90:
Diva overload!
I have always adored Señorita Carmen Sevilla!!
ReplyDeleteShe was marvellous - as you know, I have featured her here many times!

The lady from the General Motors’ Motorama promo film.:)
ReplyDeleteToo many have left us for fabulon, why can’t they wait til they turn a hundred or so ? There use to be more stars in Hollywood than the heavens, now it’s gettin’ ti be the other way around.:(

Being in the UK, neither "General Motors" nor "Motorama" means much to me. I found some grainy 1950s stuff on YouTube, but neither featured Señorita Sevilla nor Miss DeSanto...
DeleteI agree, however, the divas in Fabulon certainly do outnumber anything resembling a "star" these days. Whatever happened to class? Jx
Wow, wow wow !
ReplyDeleteWhat a great start to my week-end
They couldn’t be more different from each other but both equally fabulous in their own way.
We both have a very catholic taste in music but 'Sugar Pie' didn't sound like no nice Catholic girl to me. Hm hm, no way no how !
Clink, clink to "catholic tastes" in music! Jx
