I'm about to lose control and I think I like it

This "new improved [sic] Blogger interface" is pissing me off - another old blog post (this time from Saturday) has moved itself for some incomprehensible reason to the top of the Reading List! I have reported this (twice) to the gnomes at Google, but I very much doubt there'll be a swift response...

Sigh.

Never mind, even if it is likely to be a wet and mizzly one, there is another weekend looming, today is pay day, and I am off to the first (socially distanced) Polari since February (this time at the Royal Vauxhall Tavern as the Southbank Centre remains closed) tonight!

Time to get the party started, methinks. We may not be able to go there at the moment, given the circumstances, but what better way to open the celebrations that with the campest flight to Spain ever - and ¡Gracias Disco, es viernes!

Have a great weekend, dear reader!

[Feliz cumpleaños, Señor Almodóvar!]

  1. You are fine in my reading list. I use Feedly, and this was the newest post shown to me. I haven't used the blogger reading list for years.
Nice Choreography!! Have a stress free weekend [if there is such a thing!].

    1. Well, today's blustery winds are forecast to subside and there's no rain predicted for Sunday, so fingers crossed we'll be able to get out into the garden - that's my stress relief... Jx

PS I just looked up Feedly. It's a phone app. No good for us antediluvian types!

    2. I have Feedly on my laptop. I installed it when Google Reader expired, years ago. I've read that Old Reader is good - if it's still going.

    3. It hardly seems worth it - most of the sites I follow are Blogger blogs and I get notified via email when you, Dinah or Mr Peenee update Wordpress. Anything else is saved to Favourites and I look at the news sites every day anyway. Jx

    4. Yes, I had to have a reader because I'm on WordPress, and WordPress reader doesn't cover Blogger.

  3. That is a great song. I too have noticed in my reading list, bloggers post that I have read will pop up again at the top of my list. And fore some reason, some post show up real late, or I miss post altogether, and when I just happen to pop in to a blog, I see I have missed a post. WTF!

BUT cheers to the weekend darling...now rest your weary head ....

    1. If you click on the little "?" question mark to right near your profile icon, you can report it. The more people that do, the more likely they'll do something about it. He says...

Cheers to the weekend, indeed - and I am off out for a change! (Although curfew at the moment means all pubs have to close by 10pm, so not really a big night).

      Clink, clink!

  4. What a nice piece of writing about Harry Evans. Not a man to tolerate the sleazy, lazy oafs of the gutter press.

And your blog seems ok to me. One more strong black and I may tackle Wordmangle...

    1. Gosh - comments on two blog posts in one! Thank you, my dear...

PS I have never dealt with the dark arts of Wordmangle - I looked at it as an option way back when I was trying to decide where to resurrect my MySpace blog when it became an endangered beast, but settled here at Blogger, mainly because WP appeared on initial examination to require a qualification in Sindarin or some such esoteric made-up lingo to use it.

  5. Well hello again after all these years! And yes....whenever Blogger gets it right, by God, they gotta get in there and fix it 'til it breaks AGAIN! So frustrating!

    1. Miss Theda Bara, as I live and breathe!

Yes, once the gnomes of Google attempt to "fix" things, they inevitably fuck it up good and proper. Hey, it's free. I'll just carry on kvetching into the wilderness and see if anything improves... Jx
