Don't raise your voice, improve your argument

"If you are neutral in situations of injustice, you have chosen the side of the oppressor."

"Don't raise your voice, improve your argument."

"We may be surprised at the people we find in heaven. God has a soft spot for sinners. His standards are quite low."

"I would not worship a God who is homophobic and that is how deeply I feel about this. I would refuse to go to a homophobic heaven. No, I would say sorry, I mean I would much rather go to the other place. I am as passionate about this campaign as I ever was about apartheid. For me, it is at the same level."

RIP, Most Reverend Archbishop Desmond Mpilo Tutu OMSG CH GCStJ (7th October 1931 – 26th December 2021)

  1. It seems as though the sane and good are dying and we are left with the complete fruitcakes.

    1. It seems ever thus. Mind you, Desmond Tutu had a "good innings" for someone with such a hard life - he was 90. Some of the shits left behind are not that old... Jx

  2. Well, this is not a good way to end the year. Hmm. Wonder what 2022 holds for us? GASP. Have a cocktail, dear. Kizzes.

    1. I'll be opening "The Book of the Dead" in just a matter of days; it's quite an eye-opener (again) the number of people who popped off this mortal coil this year.

2022 HAS to be better! It really can't be any worse... Jx

  3. I am not a Christian. Well, not an anything, really, but I do know people who"believe in a god" and somehow, manage to separate things and do good things in the here and now.Tutu was one.

    1. Desmond Tutu was the type of Christian who gave Christians a good name ... and they're few and far between.

    2. As an old friend, who was a Canon in the Church of England, once said to me: "It's just my job."

There are good and bad people, no matter their belief in invisible spirits or otherwise. Desmond Tutu was a good and a great man, and they are very few and far between... Jx

Yes, why are we left with all the fruitcakes?

    1. It's a sad world nowadays, where intelligent debate and intellectual insight has been drowned out by morons shouting at eachother on social media. Jx
