London's feeling the pinch of winter, as a "cold snap" sweeps in... Oh, happy day.
As we commence a new week of unbridled joy in the world of work, let us instead (in our imagination) head for sunnier climes with an old - ahem - "favourite" of the Tacky Music Monday genre, from our collection of "weirdo Dutch music":
Freaks me out, every time! [And, yes, I have featured it before...]
Less than six weeks to go 'till we're in Spain again!
Have a good week, dear reader.
[*"Langzaam Sneller Gaan" = "Slowly going faster" in English]
Oh I did enjoy that and was singing along all the way through.
ReplyDelete6 weeks and counting ! It is "Slowly going faster" and we will be in our favourite Dutch / Spanish, beach bar listening cheesy 60s British pop and American AOR before we know it..
I can't wait until we're sipping Tinto de Verano by the Mediterranean... Malaga! Malaga! Malaga! Jx
DeleteBrings to mind the Rankin and Bass animation tune...as we too got cold and snow....
ReplyDelete[Snow Miser]
🎶🎶I'm Mister White Christmas
I'm Mister Snow
I'm Mister Icicle
I'm Mister Ten Below
Friends call me Snow Miser
Whatever I touch
Turns to snow in my clutch
I'm too much!🎵🎶🎵
Never heard of it! I looked it up, and there are definite similarities. No snow here yet, but it's definitely got a lot colder... Jx
DeleteWho knew Bet Lynch sang in Dutch - she could do with a bit more frontal support, perhaps?
ReplyDeleteIf you're looking forward to castanets on your travels, perhaps something from the queen of the clackers will get you in the mood:

Ha! She's some kind of rough, that pillion passenger!
DeleteMy jaw dropped at that video of Sonia Amelio - for a moment, I thought it was a Spike Milligan sketch... Jx
That was just odd enough to m ake me smile and sing along ... in my own made-up words.
ReplyDeleteWell, let's face it, no-one's going to learn Dutch just to sing along with Nico Haak! Jx
DeleteI remember this video from the last time. Totally bizarre.
ReplyDeleteNot surprised you remembered it - apart from the fact that once seen it can never be "unseen", I'm pretty sure it's filmed at Carihuela... Jx
DeleteThere's mountain passes between where I live and where the rest of my family lives. My dad suddenly decides he should drive over here on Friday. January is a terrible time to risk driving over the passes! Now there's a blizzard projected to arrive the same day he was thinking of driving over! We haven't been threatened with a blizzard in ten years! I didn't know mother nature was such a fan of irony! The icing on the snow cake is that Monday is a holiday that the kids have off, so I imagine a lot of people were tempted to travel this weekend.
ReplyDeleteStay warm!
I think I'd prefer bicycling on a beach, myself. Tell the silly bugger to stay at home! Jx
DeleteSend me some coolth, please. Bloody mid thirties and counting heatwave!
ReplyDeleteLet's swap. Jx
