Eek!
It may be the end of a working week, but I am keeping my fingers crossed all day, and will avoid ladders, black cats, and putting new shoes on a table...
It's Eurovision tomorrow, and we are indeed in a party mode, so, with a panoply of powder-blue Crimplene, a snap of our fingers and a synchronised twirl, let's Thank Disco It's Friday (the Thirteenth)!
Have a great weekend, dear reader!
Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes! Anyway, here we have to wait until Tuesday the 13th for our bad luck. I wonder if anyone ever sang live on Soul Train (or American Bandstand... or the Ed Sullivan Show... or... if you wanna know the truth about it).
ReplyDeleteSpain is indeed a different world...
DeleteAs for miming, it may have been endemic in America in the 1970s - but over here, because of the power of the Musicians' Union, performances on music shows such as our own legendary Top of the Pops had to be (at least partially) live (backing tapes were permitted, as long as the band or performer sang/played live over them). That sort of thing was phased out by the mid-80s. Jx
It's the 14th! We made it, and I'm looking forward to tonight - I think it's going to be a very emotional evening.

Emotions at our Eurovision parties always run high! And loud... Jx
DeleteWhoops, I didn't even connect the dots that it was Friday the 13th until I saw your post. I suppose nothing bad happened.
ReplyDeleteLucky for some? Jx
DeleteLove the Philadelphia sound. Have a wonderful Eurovision time, my dear. Kick up your heels (cha cha, of course!)
ReplyDeleteThat's the plan! Jx
