Peineta or kokoshnik?

Back to the office again. Dammit!

Britain's not ready for this! After a grotty and cold Spring, suddenly overnight we are in the middle of a heatwave! It was 30-31C on both Saturday and Sunday (although yesterday's humidity meant no sunshine in the afternoon), and today there is more to come, and thunderstorms to boot.

This Tacky Music Monday might well turn out to be very tacky/sticky indeed - but to ease us into the unfamilar exoticism of this sort of thing, here's something very, very Mediterranean...

[It's her headress that inspired the title of this post...]

You just don't get that kind of "entertainment" on mainstream telly nowadays. Probably just as well, really!

Have a good week, dear reader.

  1. It's felt and looked like summer here, too, but nothing like what you've been experiencing. I liked today's song. The male dancer at times looked like a strutting chicken.

    1. It's funny - the weather forecasters have been talking about this heatwave being the result of a "Spanish plume", yet we've actually been hotter than the Mediterranean! It won't last, of course. Thunderstorms are forecast in parts of the country (hopefully not London), which may cool things down a bit. Jx

    1. Having got used to those short weeks during May, when we had three Bank Holidays, it's been very jarring to be back to five-day weeks. Dammit. Jx

  3. I love that safety gay/sultan hussy in the background. The whole thing could have used a good bit more of his prancing. And I wish we could have a good thunderstorm.

    1. I agree. He was somewhat "out-pranced" by the belly-dancers, which is a shame. Jx

  4. Monday seems so long ago...
I think I have been overwhelmed by the heat.

    1. It'll be round again very shortly. Everything here has cooled down a bit with the rain - I imagine it's a similar situation "way out West"? Jx
