When marimba rhythms start to play

Monday, again...

Oh, fuck - not only is it back-to-work time, but it's also the dreaded Autumn Equinox!

Nights will officially be longer than days from now on, so it's all downhill from here, dear reader...

...and on this Tacky Music Monday, only Reg Kehoe and His Marimba Queens can save us now!

Have a good week, dears.

I want to be a Marimba Queen !
The chap on the double bass needs to be sedated and probably sectioned.

    1. I get the impression that a rather large amount of mind-bending drugs was involved here... Jx

  3. Hey ho! Let's all wear fancy dresses and play the xylophone! I'm game! Fun music! Yes, I'm not looking forward to the dark morning where I send my only child through the dark woods to get to the bus stop a mile a way! I've always made a point of walking with him, but my feet are a mess and I can't do it, but he doesn't seem concerned. He's big enough to fight a bear now, a strapping young man!

    1. If you will live in a Grimm's Fairy Tale, that's what to expect! 🤣

      The way is clear
      The light is good
      I have no fear
      Nor no one should
      The woods are just trees
      The trees are just wood
I sort of hate to ask it
But do you have a basket?

Into the woods and down the dell
The path is straight, I know it well
Into the woods and who can tell
      What's waiting on the journey?

PS Let's all wear fancy dresses and play the marimba!

  4. The film of Reg Kehoe and his girls is a soundie shown on Panoram machines, sort of a grandfather to the Scopitone machines of Europe. Panorams were invented and manufactured in Chicago and debuted in 1940. 5000 were built and 1850 soundies were filmed. Very few Panorams and soundies exist today.
Reg Kehoe and his Marimba band played from 1938-1962. Reg Kehoe’s wife Fern is the lady standing next to the maraca player, and playing the bass cello is Frank DiNunzio who played almost until his death in 2005.

  5. And way down here ...I suppose it must be Spring Equinox. Hard to tell, with 2 wrought chairs tipped over, flower petals whirling by the window... definitely beanie weather!

    1. At least you have all the loveliness of Spring to look forward to. We have months of darkening skies and death to come... Jx

  6. Today, it's been chucking it down like stair rods! And just 5 minutes ago, there were FIVE ducks on our lawn! Mr Duck had Mrs Duck by her neck and was sorting her out!
