Eurotica

Oh bugger. Another weekend has evaporated away, and the turgid working week has begun again...

Never mind, eh? On the weekend, my sis and I happened to touch on the topic of the Eurovision Song Contest [obviously we at Dolores Delargo Towers will be playing host again to our motley crew of ardent dressing-up fans for the contest's grand final next month]. As one does.

So obviously that inspired me to post - for your delectation and by way of a pick-me-up on this Tacky Music Monday - THIS!

Oh, those Romanians...

Have a good week, peeps!

  1. Yet another reason why I resent being deprived of Eurovision in America.

    1. Apparently it is broadcast there on something called Logo TV, but I'm not sure how widespread its coverage is... Jx

  4. While you're on the €urovision topic, and we all cannot vote for our own country, I humbly ask you to consider the Dutch entry for your voting it's here: https://youtu.be/Eztx7Wr8PtE Not only is the singer gay, he also has a pretty subtle nude-underwater swimming clip and a quite deep emotional song that seems to work, according to many polls (see https://youtu.be/nxgiJON7_AQ where it's nr.2) But whatever you vote and whatever your parliament has decided by then about the EU, , have a great Eurovision weekend!

    1. Welcome to my world, Ad, and thank you. Mr de Moor/Laurence is rather easy on the eye, and the video is certainly - ahem - appealing... The song is a bit too close to Hozier/Lana del Ray territory for our tastes, but the I'm not too keen on the UK's entry either. I tend to wait till the actual contest, when we hold our annual house-party and everyone has score-sheets, before I can judge what song may or may not be my favourite. So we'll see what the grand final brings us! Jx

  5. Being an Colonial retiree, I rather lost track of the Song Contest, but wonder if Mrs May has factored it into her exit deals?

    1. And there's me thinking that all Aussies were fanatics for Eurovision! Australia's even got itself an "honorary" entry every year, even if it technically can't win. Obviously the hysteria must just be confined to a certain "niche" of your countrymen; probably around Sydney and other metropolitan centres? Jx
