You're gonna whimper like a pup the day I catch up with you

Wallflowers looking, and smelling, gorgeous.

After another busy weekend's humping and shifting [oo-er, Missus!], including plants, pots, troughs, clods of earth, and two loads of compost and a big bag of gravel from the shops, the extensive gardens here at Dolores Delargo Towers are progressing nicely - but I am aching like bugger, and in no mood to haul my carcass off to work.

Hey ho - some things are destined to cheer us up, such as the weirdly amusing news that a man in Indiana [where else? This could only happen in the USA] is suing his parents for $87,000 because they threw out his porn collection...

...and, on this Tacky Music Monday, a song-and-dance number from the original pin-up girl [a not-quite-appropriate-link to the above story, but it'll do], Miss Betty Grable!

Have a good week, dear reader.

  1. Stay home! I hope all your hard work is protected from the wind. Gusty here.

    1. I wish I could stay home, Miss S, but alas work is the "necessary evil" that pays for more plants/holidays/booze.

Not so windy in Londinium - certainly nothing like last month, when we finally gave up on the pitiful plastic greenhouse as it kept blowing over. It's forecast to be 21C and sunny this weekend, too! Jx

    3. It's about time - we had that unexpectedly warm spell in February, then chilly, chilly, chilly... Jx

  2. Keep up the good work! I'm getting my garden fix from you as mine is currently a wasteland (well, we have a patio and lawn, now. And I've been digging manure into the concrete-like "soil" so much so that my hands are blistered and rough).

    1. Stick your rough fingers into something moist, dear.

As for the garden - you now have a patio, so get some pots on it! Jx

  4. I was in the wildflower garden here this weekend and nostalgic for my former garden, but not for the work.

And I always think of Betty Grable as wholesome and sweet, not some tough-talking dock whore, but this is the best thing of hers I've ever seen.

    1. Gardening is therapeutic, I find, no matter the amount of work involved.

As for Miss Grable as a "dock whore", I think we can all identify with that! Jx
