Yay! Another tiresome week is almost done with, and we're busy macramé-ing our outfits for the weekend!
To get us in the mood, how about a real blast from the past? Arguably one of the very first hits to be described as "Disco", it would appear that lemon yellow outfits were really in vogue in the Summer of 1974...
Thank Disco It's Friday!
Have a great weekend, dear reader!
This song always reminds me of a fun woman I dated briefly at university. She loved this song and would always get up and start dancing. Her name was Bob! (for Barbara) I at first thought it was Barb in her New York accent, but it turned out she liked to be called Bob.
ReplyDelete"Bob! You roister-doister, you!" Jx
DeleteMy dear... so frequently, we are sync'd up. Like a pair of sisters when Aunt Flo comes for a visit. I just happen to be in the process of working on a post for November, scouring the net for odd hobby/arts and crafts books. I am stealing this one and will give you credit. As for this song. I ADORE. It is one of my favorite songs... It never fails to put me in a great mood. Have a lovely weekend, dear. Kizzes.
ReplyDeleteI found it via Tumblr, that last bastion of utter madness! For your project, I am sure you might find a selection among this lot from my other blog The Dolores Delargo Towers Museum of Camp... Jx
DeleteThis is an ear worm!!! Damn it - it's going to be in my head for the next 6 weeks.
ReplyDelete1974? Blimey - it still sounds fresh.

Only 48 years ago, my dear - that song's the same age as the likes of Olivia Coleman, Robbie Willams, Kate Moss and Leonardo DiCaprio... Jx
DeletePS even so, it is indeed an earworm!
1974 must have been the year for rocking things, you have the above song, Andy Kim Rock Me Gently, George McCrae Rock Your Baby, my mother had all three in her vinyl record collection I can see her in my mind's eye dancing in her cork wedges with fag in her mouth dripping ash.
ReplyDeleteCork wedgies should make a comeback, in my opinion. Much nicer than Crocs. Jx
DeleteEven after all of these years I still have nightmares about macramé
ReplyDeleteBut the music is as fab now as it was then.
I'll have to send your Xmas present back, then. Jx
