How evolution works...

...without the pioneering campery and extravagant styling pioneered by Little Richard, where would either Mr Rick James or Mr Prince Rogers Nelson have been?

RIP, "the King and Queen of Rock'n'Roll", Little Richard (born Richard Wayne Penniman, 5th December 1932 – 9th May 2020)

    1. He was a crazy, mixed-up individual - but his musical legacy is second-to none. As he said himself: "If I had been white, there never would have been an Elvis Presley." Wise words. Jx

    1. Exactly. His unabashed rawness put people like Bill Haley to shame, and his bejewelled showmanship was something nobody had ever experienced before. He was more dangerous than Elvis, more musically adept than Jerry Lee Lewis and people like James Brown and Mick Jagger lapped it up. Music would never be the same, thanks to him. Jx
