And it's not so bad, it's not so bad

Over the pond, the Yanks are giving thanks for... something or other.

Here, it's just another day. However, it does provide us with a perfect excuse to play a little classic from (gulp) twenty-two years ago. Here's Florian Cloud de Bounevialle O'Malley Armstrong, better known as Dido...

My tea's gone cold, I'm wondering why
I got out of bed at all
The morning rain clouds up my window
And I can't see at all
And even if I could, it'd all be grey
But your picture on my wall
It reminds me that it's not so bad
It's not so bad

I drank too much last night, got bills to pay
My head just feels in pain
I missed the bus and there'll be hell today
I'm late for work again
And even if I'm there, they'll all imply
That I might not last the day
And then you call me
And it's not so bad, it's not so bad

And I want to thank you
For giving me the best day of my life
Oh, just to be with you
Is having the best day of my life

Push the door, I'm home at last
And I'm soaking through and through
Then you handed me a towel
And all I see is you
And even if my house falls down now
I wouldn't have a clue
Because you're near me

And I want to thank you
For giving me the best day of my life
Oh, just to be with you
Is having the best day of my life
And I want to thank you
For giving me the best day of my life
Oh, just to be with you
Is having the best day of my life

Happy Gobbling Day to our American chums!

  1. Bloody Dido! Well, more specifically, my bloody housemate at the time (22 years ago? Crikey!) who loved Dido's music so much that she played the album over and over and over until I went so crazy that I turned her into a newt. My housemate, not Dido. But just like John Cleese, she got better.

    1. You say Dido, I say Dildo? Let's call the whole thing off...

I agree - she was somewhat over-played around the time Sliding Doors was in the cinemas - and let's not even mention that blond bigot Eminem's sample of this song. However, much like her equivalent of a decade earlier Sade, the music does stand the test of time. Jx

  2. True - Dido still sounds good 20years later. Blimey.
I am guessing some Americans are very thankful at the minute to be getting rid of the orange turkey.
