In honour of Mr Joseph Clois Shivers Jr, born one hundred years ago today, I have excavated a real treat from the vaults.
Who? I hear you ask...
...occupying a place in many gayers' hearts (and other places), Mr Shivers' lasting legacy is the fact that he invented Lycra!
Take it away, boys!
Well, that's my afternoon's exercise regime sorted...
While that routine isn't quite up to the kaleidoscopic heights of Busby Berkeley's over at your museum blog, it certainly is hypnotic and rather captivating!
ReplyDeleteNo swing voters there
DeleteEffortlessly musical, too - I can't wait to see them tackle (ahem!) some drum'n'bass. Jx
DeleteJaysus! I would nae ride a bike in that outfit. I'd want a cushion, at least!

Sx
Poor little thing. It's no wonder he's not looking down. Jx
DeleteI loved seeing all the different times on the clocks above. And all different size hands.
ReplyDeleteWhen the big hand's straight up, it's... Fun time! Jx
DeletePS the boys in the video know exactly what I mean
For some reason the video playback had frozen so I have updated the link. Sorry for any inconvenience caused to your viewing of buff men in Lycra with their legs up, etcetera, etcetera... Jx
ReplyDeleteBeen having trouble getting myself to exercise at home, but I think I’m beginning to feel... um, motivated! xoN
