Fluck, it's Monday again!

Another weekend flies by - a very jolly one, with not one, but two extended pub crawls! - and here we are again, immersed in the "joys" of work.

Thank heavens for the fact it's Miss Diana Dors' birthday. She always cheers us up!

On this Tacky Music Monday, she's in her element, vamping it up against a piano in the old East End of London:

How we miss her.

Diana Dors (born Diana Mary Fluck, 23rd October 1931 – 4th May 1984).

Have a good week, dear reader.

  2. I confess I'm glad my name is not Fluck and definitely would have changed it.

    1. There's a wonderful (probably apocryphal) anecdote about the occasion the local Mayor, welcoming her back to her home town of Swindon and extremely nervous about making a mess of her real name, apparently said: "we are here today so we can welcome back from Hollywood and honour a truly unique star, the World knows her as Diana Dors, but to us she will always remain our very own, DIANA CLUNT.” 🤣 Jx

  3. It was a nice lie -in this morning, a ot of coffee, then the purging of what to take and not take on the trip. Hat boxes are hell to check, and the airport staff has fits and get their panties in a twist when they see a cart coming of trunks and hat boxes. Oh well, it's done. Now just relaxing a bit. Maybe a toil in the garden. Otherwise just waiting to pop the "pills" and then the "pep pills" for the 13 hour flight tomorrow.

  4. Ms Fluck/Dors and I shared a birthday. If I ever meet a Miss Clunt I guess that'll be a hat trick.

    1. A few miles further along the river and we would have been at the Isle of Dogs, home of Queenie Watts's Waterman Arms - whose bar was recreated in the studio for "Stars and Garters", from whence this clip is taken! Jx

  7. Un original d'Angleterre, Diana Dors était si belle et sauvage avec une grande personnalité. Mademoiselle Fluck a vécu pleinement à vie. Elle nous manque.
