October's a busy time for "awareness" events, it seems. Here in the UK, it's Black History Month; and it's also the awareness month for (among others) Breast Cancer, Lupus, Bullying Prevention, Cholesterol and School Libraries, and it's the Tree Council's "Seed Gathering Season", to boot. Apparently there's also something called "Go Sober for October", but we ignore that one.
Among all of these, there is one that just ended that I missed - National Curry Week!
As if I need any excuses to feature an OTT Bollywood number...
I could just eat a Lamb Dhansak, now.

Go Sober for October?!?!?!? What fresh hell is that about?!?! No cocktails for a month? Like that would happen in that house.
ReplyDeleteBut curry does sound good.....

Aren't you observing Seed Gathering Season? Does sound like it could be fun.
ReplyDeleteWe always do collect seeds from viable species in our collection, but not from trees. I spent Saturday sweeping up two bucketloads of Sycamore keys from our garden. Vile things. They sprout everywhere - and, I have discovered, attract bluebottles as their pollinators! Jx
DeletePS The "other" kind of seed can be collected at any time of year, if one is lucky...
DeleteLove curry. Love all middle eastern food... the spices and most of it can be made vegetarian quite easily. Peas and chick peas... yum. And curry is tofu's best friend.
ReplyDeleteIn my opinion, the bin is tofu's best friend. I love pulses, however. Jx
DeleteIn agreement with you here.Hmmm...thinking I might make dosa for breakfast.
DeleteYummy! Jx
DeleteYum! We love Indian food! I particularly like garlic Naan, Briyani rice, Potato Aloo and as a treat Pistachio or Badam Milk which is a refreshing creamy nut drink. No don't go there! That's not what I meant! :) Its sweet, not salty.

DeleteYou're the salt in my stew"
Biryani is one of my fave curry dishes! Jx
Indian, don't mind if I do. Poppadoms and pickle tray to start, don't let them take the pickle tray away as that will do for the onion bhaji starter, then sag paneer, pilau rice and pashwari naan, sod the mukhwas, bring me an After Eight mint.
ReplyDeleteI'm on my first coffee...don't start with all this tempting!
DeleteMy stomach's rumbling, too... Jx
DeleteNope. I'm not a curry person. Which is probably why I've been in hiding this week.

My mother's a "bland food" aficionado, too. She could live off fish pie, tea and cake. Probably does, tbh. Jx
