It's ben a long time coming, or at least it feels that way...
As we crawl towards the conclusion of another - ahem - fun-packed week, our thoughts turn once more to partying!
I reckon it's time to drag out that lacy, bat-wing-sleeved number, shimmy along with Miss Claudja Barry - and Thank Disco It's Friday!
Have a faboo weekend, dear reader!
I can imagine her practicing that routine in front of a mirror like a pageant queen - so carefully choreographed. And such a light disco sound. She's lovely, of course. Thanks for unearthing this. I hadn't thought of her for a bit. Now bring my my Samantha Sang album... a little "Change of Heart"? Kizzes.
ReplyDeleteThere's nothing better than a "forgotten wannabee-diva" to cheer on the weekend, is there? Dear Miss Barry never had a hit in the UK, not even with my fave of hers Boogie Woogie Dancing Shoes, and Miss Sang was a "one-hit-wonder" here; only Emotions made the charts - and that was basically a BeeGees song with a bit of her voice here and there... Jx
DeleteWell, if I ever need to turn to a bargain bin Donna Summers, I'll know where to go. Did she really sing Boogie Woogie Dancing Shoes? One of my faves, seems like something on the other end of the disco galaxy.
ReplyDelete"Bargain bin Donna Summer", indeed. I think she tried a bit of everything in her singing career, to ever-diminishing returns. Jx
DeleteI don't want to be rude but she needs a bit more Oomph !
ReplyDeleteShe makes the Nolans sound like Grace Jones or Divine.
Basically, she phoned it in. Jx
DeleteWhat Madam Arcati said. She needs a rocket up her arse!
ReplyDeleteI think she may have been on the Mogadon. Jx
DeleteProbably has hip problems.
DeleteSx
She needs a Zimmer frame, perhaps?
