I'm rising up

We're off to march through London, blowing whistles - just like the good old days of Gay Pride marches of yore...

Here's an appropriate number to get us in the mood!

Wish us luck...

    1. This wasn't a "dressing-up Pride" occasion so much as a political march - more of that later, no doubt - and thankfully the rain did hold off! Jx

    1. "We're up all night 'till the sun
We're up all night to get some
We're up all night for good fun
We're up all night to get lucky"

It wasn't quite like the Prides I went to in the '80s and '90s - no mass orgies nor cruising-in-the-bushes opportunities. Dammit. Times have changed... Jx

  3. Have fun! I agree with Ms Scarlet and Mitzi!

I'll be supporting a LBGQT-owned bakery this weekend. They just opened and already the haters are spamming review sites like Yelp to make them look bad. A bunch of us neighbors heard what's happening and are coming out to support the bakery. We'll buy their pastries and write lots of great reviews and encourage our friends to go support them as well. We'll flood the system and take back the signal.

    1. Why on earth would people expend so much time and energy to pour their hate and bigotry on a bakery?! We live in a sick, sick world. Jx

    2. Someone said hate must be a hobby for these haters. Too bad they can't get a life and have better hobbies!

  4. I'm a bit late - and you're probably still "recovering" in bed - but I hope it was fun and the message was received loud & clear.

    1. I did have a bit of a lie-in, it's true. The day was everything it should have been: well-attended, peaceful and with some powerful - and some perhaps controversial - messaging. We enjoyed it! Jx

  5. Oh bugger!
That would seem to be the appropriate phrase for the weather/attendance/hopes

    1. The rain held off, and there were thousands of people on the march, so I'd judge that to be a success! Jx

  6. I hope you had a good time and are not reading this from some lock-up.

    1. "Lock-up" here is gay slang for "toilet cubicle" (usually in reference to people having sex therein), so your comment made me hoot! And no-one ended up in either variety as far as I am aware... Jx
