Recline yourself, resign yourself

Exactly what I feel about Mondays...

Yup. Here we go again...

To ease the old ennui on this Tacky Music Monday, let us marvel at the va-va-voom that was Miss Gwen Verdon, trying desperately to get her mitts on the (unsurprisingly uninterested) Tab Hunter...

Whatever Lola wants, Lola gets? Unlikely...

Have a good week, dear reader!

  1. I'd like to be in bed, tossing papers aside as I grimace, instead of working. Bring me an extra blanket. It's chilly this morning.

    Love,

  2. I never tire of this song... nor of Gwen Verdon. (OK, I did have a major crush on Tab Hunter when I was a kid. I thought it was because I wanted to look like him.)

  3. I saw a tramp in town today, he was tab hunting, picking up dog ends at bus stops and putting them in his pocket, how much are cigs nowadays?

  4. Gwen Verdon doesn't get nearly enough credit. I love how she nails every single element of this routine, and does humor at the same time - just so much taste and thought going on here. WOW.

    1. She was one of the most underrated talents of all time! It was she, not Bob Fosse, who choreographed most of the routines for which he took all the credit... Jx

    2. The humor is so important to this number because the censors would never have allowed Gwen Vernon simply strip in the movie, It had to be a joke.

  5. I don't know if you saw this, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z6Erqp3WPig it's the latest Dr. Who theme, performed by the BBC Radio Orchestra of Wales. Does that mean everyone gets their very own BBC Orchestra?

    1. The BBC has many, many strings to its bow. [boom, tish!]

Since Russell T Davies revived Doctor Who it has been produced in Cardiff, so it makes sense that the BBC Wales orchestra should get the gig... Jx

    1. It's a very much overlooked musical. Probably because it's title and subject matter mean very little outside the USA where nobody else plays baseball. Jx

    1. They are related ball-games, of course. There isn't a helluva lot in the "New World" that doesn't owe its roots to the "Old" - apart from lacrosse. Jx
