Sun is shining for a change, and I'll be spending a few hours this afternoon out in it, watering the garden again. No rest for the wicked!
Meanwhile, Our Patron Saint of the Vocoder Cher has been time-travelling - making surprise appearances in Mad Men, Red Dwarf, Sons of Anarchy, Secrets of the London Underground, and even singing karaoke with "Barry" in The Queen Vic in EastEnders over twenty years ago - as part of a relaunch/rebranding of cable channel UKTV as "U"...
It's faboo!
I will always like her. Madonna could take a page or two from Cher on how to age gracefully...and not try to hard. Just the other day I saw a interview where the interviewer asked Cher about Madonna. She certainly doesn't have any love loss for her, and called her rude and ignorant.
ReplyDeleteI never thought they were destined to get along - two wilful women at the top of their game (albeit with very different paths taken to get there).
DeleteMadge is, and always will be, a "Joan Crawford-esque" hard-headed businesswoman, who has never suffered from a lack of self-worth. Cher is, and always will be, a child of the hippie era, a survivor from being thrown into the spotlight at a very young age, and who has learned a few "life lessons" along the way.
Chalk and cheese, but we love them both nonetheless! Jx
People know what they’re talking about when they say she’s done it all. Through all her fame, I’ve continued to admire and respect her... unlike some other superstars who shall remain nameless.
ReplyDeleteShe always appeared to be genuinely approachable, and a "triple threat", to boot - only one step away from an EGOT! Jx
DeleteCher...yes, a brilliantly talented gal.And , as she proved, given a good script, a damn fine actress, too.
ReplyDeleteShe was superb in Silkwood and Tea With Mussolini. Never saw Moonstruck, however, for which she won the Oscar. Jx
DeleteWho ?
ReplyDeleteThat should be "Whoooooooooooo?", if you want to do a "Charlie Hides moment"! Jx
