I just tried to sit through Bea's tv movie of the week she made with Richard Kiley and Joan Van Ark (on Prime). I made it about half way through it. It is one of my most painful recent experiences. And I have fetal position migraines on a regular basis. So I turn to your blog for comfort and this... this brings it back in all its muted, pastel horror. Thanks, Jon.
I think this clip is actually from Mel Brooks' History of the World: Part I...
Truth be told, apart from Golden Girls and Mame, I am unfamiliar with any of Bea's other work - but we went to see her one-woman show at the glittering Savoy Theatre back in 2003, and she was utterly brilliant. Jx
Not quite that cold here yet - but it's forecast to go down to -2C overnight on Tuesday. Yuk. Today I bought some plant fleece to protect things that are about to bloom, just in case... Jx
Oh, I see you have one of those walk up windows for service.
ReplyDelete...with multiple glory holes, you'll notice. Jx

It was such a beautiful, almost summery day here, I wound up going to the same cafe twice just to have something to do outside.
ReplyDeleteIt was officially the hottest March day in London since 1968 yesterday! We thoroughly enjoyed it... Jx
DeleteDid you catch the sun? I did, cheeks and nose, I look like a farmer's wife. Time to get the Malibu 30 out.
ReplyDeleteI certainly did! I'll be a gorgeous bronze colour before you know it. Jx
DeleteAre you allowed to use the Wine Time Corner, or are you relegated to the new bench?
ReplyDelete"I can go anywhere here; toilets, backyard - they're very free and easy!"

Now April 3rd - time to turn the central heating back on!

DeleteAh ha. The wine time corner has a serving window into the bar / kitchen. All we need is the butler.
ReplyDeleteFound him! Jx
