Another weekend - albeit a very enjoyable one - has whizzed by again, and so we're faced with another week of unbridled thrills and spills...

When I was in Sitges a few weeks ago the room next door to mine was occupied by an American couple, we would often chat on the balcony (I say we, I could hardly get a word in) they were only staying for 5 days as Hal only gets 7 days paid leave a year to Michael's 10 days. I listened in horror, as he continued, paid holidays are reserved for salaried personel only. I think they were pulling my leg. Anyway, they left and was replaced by a snooty French couple who didn't like the smell of their own shit, judging by the look on their faces.
ReplyDeleteAmerican holiday entitlements are very odd. I've heard horror stories about people only getting minimal time off, yet there's always Yanks in London, whatever. They also have eleven bank holidays, whereas we only get eight... Jx
