You'll find it happens all the time

Roses "Gertrude Jekyll" and "Veilchenblau" and Clematis “Comtesse de Bouchaud” complement each other perfectly. [click to embiggen]

Finally! The weather brightened up - it was vile yesterday and on Friday - so, needless to say, I've spent a fruitful several hours in the extensive gardens here at Dolores Delargo Towers, potting-on some little plants that have outgrown their pots, disposing of the Spring tulips (we don't have the space to keep anything that's not going to flower for a second year, and tulips in pots generally don't), and watering every single one of the remaining 200+ pots, troughs and wall-pots. Phew.

Time, methinks, for some "Sunday Music", courtesy of our "house band" again:

Faboo!

  1. Gorgeous, gorgeous, GORGEOUS garden photo! The light coming through "Veilchenblau"'s leaves and onto the fern, the beautiful roses (and clematis), and your spiderplants - which are so much further along than mine (dratted North Wind keeping everything cooler here for longer). No wonder you spent so much time in the garden today.

I had a different song in mind when I read this post's title (which would have been a good choice for Friday or yesterday's weather, too): The Sun Never Shone That Day by aha (title lyric about 55 secs in). PMJ is much, MUCH cheerier!

    1. I was rather pleased with how that photo turned out - it was just a snap - but all the plants are burgeoning now the sun's out (and they've been watered)! Next task, if the weather stays decent enough to do it one evening this week, is to get the sprayer out for the "Plant Guard". The phlox has powdery mildew already!

PMJ knocks Aha into a cocked hat! Jx

You don't like Tom Jones, Tom Jones? Heaven forfend! Jx

  3. This “It’s Not Unusual” is unusual. I love it. Jack Amblin is a one-man Tom Jones. And I love the extensive gardens.

  4. Your back passage is looking vibrant and lovely!!!! Just in time for the Pride Month festivities. I was away yesterday, so I too spent time watering and a little re-potting.

    1. I am perplexed how Gay Pride has evolved and expanded into a whole "Pride Month", but who are we to say no? Xmas seems to start around Bonfire Night, and the Easter eggs start to arrive in the shops the day after Valentines Day, so hey ho to the marketeers!

Gardening is such a joy... Jx

    2. I didn't think I'd like a washboard version of anything - but this works!

The garden's saying "thank you" for the water 😍 Jx

    2. The blooms on my big pink bush are prolific - it seems to like wet winters.
