Just two weeks to go, and we will be in Spain...
How opportune it is that today marks the centenary of the birth of one of Andalusia's greatest purveyors of the Flamenco tradition, "La Faraona" Señorita Lola Flores!
Here, by way of a tribute, is a mere sample of the great lady's repertoire...
¡Ella es maravillosa!
María Dolores "Lola" Flores Ruiz (21st January 1923 – 16th May 1995)

ReplyDelete...alegre sombreros and all! Jx
DeleteIt seems like you're always sneaking off somewhere GAY.
ReplyDeleteIf it's not GAY by the time we arrive, we make it GAYER! Jx
DeleteHave you started packing yet??? Have you bought your suncream?
ReplyDeleteSx
Packing? We take a single cabin bag each... Jx
DeleteI love her energy, but these crowds don't seem to be resonating it very well. My hometown always has an enthusiastic crowd. Many US entertainers would either start and/or finish their tours with Spokane, which is much rowdier than Seattle who just sits/stands there with sticks up their asses. Hahaha.
ReplyDeleteIt is funny watching the audiences for so many of the performances I've featured here over the years - sometimes one might think they're on Mogadon. Jx
DeleteI had to look up Mogadon. Hahaha. It's not carried in the US under that name. I take something similar for flying anxiety. It's funny to think of forgetfulness as an acceptable side effect, but I guess if its only temporary... and its certainly better than death!
DeleteYou probably wouldn't want to take it just before a flamenco show, for fear the diva might clonk you with her pericón... Jx
DeleteWhen I see the word Lola I think of https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s_xA6sH9kkQ
ReplyDeleteWell, I'm not dumb but I can't understand
Deletewhy she walks like a woman and talks like a man
Oh my Lola, lo lo lo Lola, lo lo lo Lola
Indeed. Jx
Well that's got the blood pumping.
ReplyDeleteLove love her, love her, love her.
