It has been a real bind this week, dear reader - but at least we have a weekend in view to look forward to!
We are looking forward a visit from The Mother tomorrow, who, despite her frailty, will no doubt be critiquing our gardening skills. I don't think she'll find us wanting, I hope. 😁
Meanwhile, as it is indeed the time to stop thinking "spreadsheets" and start thinking "spangles and cocktails", let's wish many happy returns of the day to Miss Liz Mitchell - and Thank Disco It's Friday!
Have a great weekend, peeps!
I'll have to look up the lyrics to Daddy Cool (say what?). It will keep me from having to watch Boney M. dance and sing.
ReplyDeleteThere aren't that many lyrics to look up, tbh...
DeleteWhat's wrong with Boney M? They may have been cheesy, but loads of fun - and they had two of the biggest selling hits of all time in the UK, so it's not just me that likes them! Jx
I think I have the singing and dancing Boney M etched into my brain and don't at this moment in time need a refresher!!
ReplyDeleteDo you not have the awful weather this weekend? We have gale force winds and rain - deep joy.
Sx
It's utterly foul weather here today, and the forecast is showery again tomorrow - but with some sunny spells, so hopefully there'll be a chance to get into the garden. Jx
DeleteSunny? Yesterday my life was filled with rain.
DeleteWe've had awful weather here, pissed it down all day.
It has not stopped today! I'm just hoping the Met Office forecast for tomorrow is correct, and there are at least a couple of breaks between showers... Jx
DeleteOh dear...I'm showing my age again https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RJQKPMnlo8E 1957, apparently. But it beats the pants off Bony M.
ReplyDeleteThat song was a big over here hit twenty years later, covered by the doo-wop band Darts. So there were two different songs of the same name in our charts at either end of the same year, 1977. Jx
DeleteNo the song does not have many words. Songwriters Frank Farian & Reyam manage to use only 16 words either repeated or rearranged -
ReplyDeleteShe's crazy like a fool

And today's game is... how many anagrams can we make with those letters? 🤣 Jx
DeleteEven Donna Summer's 'Love to Love You Baby' used 40 words. Tolstoy in comparison.
ReplyDeleteMost of those words were actually groans, to be honest. Jx
