We had a really nasty thunderstorm last night - the sort I remember from my childhood atop high ground in Wales, where the lightning actually seemed to be all around, rather than up in the sky where it belongs. That's the "Indian Summer" well-and-truly over, then...
And so, another week of unadulterated joy in work begins. However, we have booked our holiday in Anadalusia next February - and, that being the occasion of Madam Arcati's 65th, some of our "gang" - Baby Steve, Alex, Our Sal, Lou, and his sister Carol and niece Jen - have also booked apartments and will be there to join the festivities! So that's something to look forward to, at least.
Fortuitously on this Tacky Music Monday, we have something typically bewildering from Spain to provide our "wake-up call":
WTF? Is it just me, or does no-one except perhaps the singer seem to be enjoying themselves? And why the "clown bald wig"? Questions, questions...
Have a good week, dear reader.
That was definitely an appropriately tacky music video. What were they even thinking with the back-up dancers... and the clown mask and noise makers?
ReplyDeleteThe 65th celebration sounds like it will be a good one.
It's a truly splendid example of tackiness! Jx
DeleteI am not really afraid of thunderstorms, but when one lives surrounded by large, unpredictable trees and where not all power lines are underground...
ReplyDeleteThe Feb bash sounds fun.
I imagine your tropical storms dwarf anything the North Sea can throw at us! Jx
DeleteIn San Francisco, we almost never ever get thunderstorms and having grown up with real nutbusters, I miss them.
ReplyDeleteIt seems odd that a city on the coast gets no thunderstorms! Something about the geography? Jx
DeleteWe didn't get the storms in North Devon, but they seem to have made an impact on South Devon. You're right - I remember those surround sound/light storms, and I remember one going around us about 7 times.
ReplyDeleteAnyhow - those backing dancers look like they were drugged and forced into their costumes!

Oh, the great "North/South divide", thanks to Dartmoor. The Madam, who's from Plymouth, always used to say it was easier to get to Brittany than it was to get to Barnstaple! Jx
DeleteThat’s still true!!

I, on the other hand, being from Wales was more familiar with places like Ilfracombe (and even went to Bideford and Clovelly) as they weren't too far - especially if you got the Balmoral steam ship! Jx
DeleteI used to like going to Exeter when we lived nearer to there, but it takes almost an hour by car to get there now. I’m almost in Cornwall now, near Bude - but I do get to see Clovelly often - it’s where I go to test that I can get up a steep hill without getting out of puff. What I didn’t realise was that going down the hill would become more treacherous!

So you are officially "in the middle of nowhere", then? Jx
DeleteDefinitely! I can go a bit stir crazy sometimes, and yearn for pavements with streetlights.

The Tube, black cabs, night buses, 24-hour shops, the West End - I couldn't live without them! Jx
DeleteWell another lovely weekend was had here, as I was up in the mountains glamping again. I'm barely made the narrow Escape as the heavens opened and torrential thunderstorms hit. They were calling for rain and thunderstorms today but it's gotten glorious here. Which tends to make Monday a little more bearable.
ReplyDeleteToday was just windy, grey and grizzly here. Very Monday. Jx
DeleteI suspect the others are just envious of the singer's hat.
ReplyDeleteHat - or cake tin?! Jx
DeleteLooking forward to Spain but will not be adding to the playlist !
ReplyDeleteIt's truly awful in every way imaginable - Well done you !
I try my best to root out some of the tackiest musical gems - and I am particularly proud of this one! Jx
