It's all right all right all right all right

Oh, thank heavens - this week has been excruciating, and now the end is in sight...

I feel, to celebrate the impending conclusion of my first week back to work after a lovely extended break, we need a proper party!

What could be a more fitting and enjoyable way to crank up the mood than with an absolute classic of the genre - from a band that, to my surprise, despite the "Noo Yawk" sound, was actually from London - and Thank Disco It's Friday!

Pink satin shirts for men and turquoise eyeshadow for the girls never got dated. Did they?

Have a fantabulosa weekend, peeps!

  1. I love classic disco... this is jungle boogie fun. That lead singer? Most androgynous thing evah! He's singing about 'girls' and all I can think of is laying carpet. It's that bowl cut - favored by lesbians everywhere. Yes.. adore. The fashions. OH! Those horrible fabrics... they wouldn't breathe. This is very pretty and very ahead of it's time. Thank you for the memory. You unearth the best stuff. BTW - Is that Fred up their waving his arms like a big nelly?

    1. He does have a bit of a "Martina Navratilova" look about him in this video, I must admit. She's more manly, though. We forgive him, and the fashions, however - it's a fab song!

I had a bit of a search on that gif - and it's actually Lillian Roth and Eddie Prinz in Madam Satan. That's a film I've never actually seen, but I "exhibited" it in the Dolores Delargo Towers Museum of Camp anyway because it looks so stylish... Jx

    1. If I were to choose any decade, it would be the 1980s - but you can beat 70s Disco for a party! Jx

  4. The Ipomoeas (and the Cobaeas) had a party on the paysho today as it was sunny and relatively warm. I don't think they were dancing to Gonzales, though...

    Happy weekend!

    1. We'll be treating ours to a bit of sunshine and probably Radio 3, Classic FM or Serenade Radio this week (I'll be working, more's the pity)... We'll introduce them to Disco a bit later on, methinks. Jx
