Ridicule is nothing to be scared of

Another gorgeous day in the extensive gardens here at Dolores Delargo Towers, pottering - I've potted up twelve (hopefully) yellow Aquilegias and planted out, into what laughingly passes as our "flower-bed", some Verbena rigida that were languishing unhappily in a window-box/planter - and I feel like I may have caught the sun...

I think it's now "Pimms O'Clock"!

Hold the Pimms, I'll have the gin...

  2. Preaching to the choir, honey. Beefeaters is actually one of my gins of choice... I mean, I will drink almost anything, but Boodles and Beefeaters? Adore.

    1. Plymouth Gin's a house fave here, but we also love Spain's Larios.

We have amassed quite a collection of unusual gins in our drinks cabinet over the past few years - we'll have to have a sampling session one evening soon! Jx

  3. I'm not one for gin, but I was excited at first to think the woman was making "Jungle Juice" which is something we used to make for high school parties. Once the parents disappeared the white rum and vodka got put in. Here's a recipe (We didn't put pineapple in ours.) https://izzycooking.com/jungle-juice/?msclkid=ce18e093a7f211ec8db347e50dd7a83c

    1. In the UK, and mix of fruit juice, fruit and booze is called "Punch". At my 35th birthday party (and that's a helluva long time ago now), I started one with a mix of Sangria, fruit and a liberal dash of spirits. By the end of the night after various top-ups, it was basically a big bowl of wine and gin. The party ended up a very different thing to the way it started... Jx

  4. I am not one for watching ads but that was very jolly.
We will have to get a Pimms basket like that for our next pick-nick.
Hope I can still get into me tweeds.
